How It All Started
My brother loved playing the guitar and singing. His room was where they are recording music today. All he ever wanted was to be in a band and play music for people and with people.
He started with a band and rehearsed under Bahama Mama's under W 65th st. Someone stole his equipment so they moved to a place by Parma Town Mall. They had a better security system but it didn't matter. His equipment came up missing.
They found a space on the fifth floor of a building and thought since they occupied the entire floor all would be good. The owner of the building set it on fire twice to collect insurance money.
Lee figured he would have to have his own place to be left alone and a place others could feel safe. Twelve people joined together and Level 5 was born. It was a memory of the 5th floor that created the motivation to follow his dream.
Level 5 was created so people wanting to work on their craft would have a place to feel safe and left alone. That's why the outside looks like a closed up warehouse. It has been the secret fishing hole for many bands over the years and hopefully many more.
